My daughter loves this chocolate spread, and i love it too! She likes it sandwiched between a whole banana, cut lengthways. I like to spread it on an oatcake, which tastes a bit like a healthy chocolate digestive biscuit!
Cacao is high in magnesium which is important for energy production, heart health and also helps the body cope with stress. Coconut oil is a superb source of energy and is also good for the gut as it has antimicrobial and antifungal qualities. Tahini is calcium packed and a great source of protein too. The combination of all these amazing ingredients make a perfect afternoon pick-me-up and tastes pretty good too!
Ingredients:
2 tbsp cacao powder or good quality cocoa (no sugar)
2 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp raw honey or rice malt syrup or maple syrup
1/2 tsp ceylon cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
splash of milk
1 tbsp coconut oil (optional)
Method:
Mash all the ingredients together then enjoy spread on to oatcakes, apple slices, banana, apples or as a healthy ganache on cake. Keeps in a glass container with a lid (such as a jam jar) in the fridge for around 1-2 weeks, although i guarantee it will be devoured within 24 hours!
REFINED SUGARFREE / DAIRYFREE / GLUTENFREE
This is my favourite homemade chocolate spread.
I’m not sure how many serving it supposed to be for. I certainly can eat the quantity listed all by myself in one sitting. Perhaps I should feel a tiny bit guilty … but I don’t.
